A new face!
Last updated on Apr 21st, 2008 • Categorized in: NewsHey everyone! If you’ve visited Phauxshow before you may be wondering what the hell is going on?! Well, we got bored with our prior site and decided to shake things up a bit!
In the next little while we will be adding new features and tidying things up a bit around here. Please be patient - we’ll get there!
Feel free to email us to tell us what you think.

Really nice design. Looking forward to more updates.
I hate to be a wet blanket, folks, but I don’t particularly care for the new logo for phauxshow; the former one had more class. Also, it seems a little bleak for an art “magazine”, but then again, that makes the actual artwork stand out, I suppose. Lastly, I think the Gallery button should be a little more prominent on the front page.
That’s all! Glad to have you back!
Hmm, I can see where you’re coming from Elizabeth - but let me explain - when we built this site one of our primary goals was to make it function well, be full of features but as unstated in design as possible. The header is, as you say, ‘bleak’ for just that reason. Also, for the sake of minimalism we chose to work with mostly grey and white. I may brighten things up in the future and always intended to use a rotating header rather than the fixed one we have now, however our main focus was letting the art ‘decorate’ the site. Personally, I like the idea that the site will change as the art changes - it makes it less ours and more yours!
Regarding the prominence of the Gallery button - I’ll give that some thought. The Gallery is, of course, the center of the site. I suppose I thought that the nav bar was the best place for it. I’ll think about building some other indicator soon.
Thanks for the feed back - it is always welcome!
Also, thanks Gavin for the kind words!

Just curious. I stumbled upon this site today, and I really like it. I am a Denver artist, and would love to submit my work. My art files are large. Can you accept large tiff images? How will I know that you received them, and what if I want to add or remove an image? What about copyrights? Thanks, Lisah

Sarah KinanFrom an early age her passion has been to paint with an energy and excitement that radiates through her Paintings, Sarah is an artist who is taking the world by storm, she has travelled around the world and was influenced by different cultures which reflects in her work, She creates magical works of art that deal with the human spirit. Working in oil & acrylics Sarah has been able to capture the essence of her subjects. From the love of a mother and her child to the relationships within a family. Her paintings are filled with love and sensitivity. Each painting brings different mood, colors and emotions. Painting is not a business for Sara, she just wants to fulfil her need to paint everyday and she hopes more and more people can enjoy her paintings. Currently her art is being collected all over the world.
Stumbled upon your site through the wordpress forums. Love the concept.
I just wanted to point out, as a random reader, that it would be nice if the images in that block of 9 up there on the right told me anything about who’s work each is. I’ve seen a few that have made me want to see more work by the same artist, but there’s no link or any information to the artist that I can see. I feel as though I’m being teased.
Otherwise, keep up the good work. ^__^
Lexie,
Thanks for the feedback. I added all of the data. You should be able to see the image title and artist name by scrolling over or clicking on a piece. Not all browsers may support this so if you try and don’t see the info, try restarting your browser or contacting me. I can tell you who’s who!
There are around 30 images in the sidebar gallery and it is set to show 9 at random.
Adding the info was on a long list of mini projects for the site. I’ve been working on a forum for it and had fallen behind.
Thanks for the incentive!

Hello! i must say that your website is amazing. please pardon my punctuation, it leaves much to be desired. I am first of all gratefull to find a site like this, i have been waiting a long time for the universe to show me the way. Tonight, i happened across your site and i just ‘knew this was it. I am an artist ..not the typical kind,i know nothing about the art world, i have had no formal training, all i know that i have to create everyday in some form or other. My problem is i do not know how to even get my artwork onto the computer, never mind submiting it to you. Can you please help me with some info about local resources that may be available to myself in regards to this? Thank you, your time is appreciated.
Hi Wendy,
Thanks for the very kind words! In a few weeks we will be adding a forum to the site. One of the categories will most likely be dedicated to listing resources for artists.
Until then, do you have photographs of your work? As a starting point, I would take (or have taken) high quality digital photos of the art. On Phauxshow, all of the art is well taken and without borders. Try to take a centered photo of each piece that shows only the work. From there it is just a matter plugging the camera into your computer, saving the images and then uploading them to your email account.
Once you’ve done that, send them to our email and we’ll have a look at them for you!
Good luck!
